LEE
WILLIAMS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
The
Lee Williams Birthday & Appreciation Day
Celebration was held on Saturday, July, 28,
2018 at Fair Park in downtown Tupelo, MS as
the legendary gospel singer celebrated with
his family, friends and fans. People travelled
long distances from as far as Texas, Louisiana,
Tennessee, Detroit, Alabama, Georgia, Chicago
and New York to celebrate with Mr. Williams
who will retire from performing at the end
of this year due to Alzheimers.
Being
a promoter from Texas reached out to several
organizations to help make this event possible
including the Alzheimers Association,
the NAACP, Mayor Jason Shelton and the City
of Tupelo who all were in favor to participate
and support in making this event a huge success
along with the sponsors who participated.
It
was a very eventful day as Mr. Williams celebrated
his birthday and observed the festivities,
shook hands and took pictures with fans from
the center of the park. The event was hosted
by radio personalities Bridgett Shelly (WKIU
95.1 FM); Stan Allen (WELO 104.3 FM) and TV
host Tammie Tubbs also in attendance was WTVA
television and the Daily Journal newspaper.
I
would like to personally thank those who participated
in Celebrating Lee Williams Birthday.
Your presence was greatly appreciated and
made this event and community gathering a
success.
Thank You ... Cynthia Allen
